Migration of development, QA/Testing and production servers to a virtualized environment (using Xen). Implementation of monitoring and administration systems for the virtualized systems, including development of a bespoke shell environment based upon Xen-shell.
Upgrade and consolidation of the companies Linux servers, firewalls, proxies and routers. Implementation of centralized monitoring, administration and fail over systems.
Implementation of a company VPN to provide access for both roaming users and remote sites, including bespoke scripting to enable access to in-house developed legacy systems.
Implementation of spam and virus filtering on company mail servers.
Migration of company websites to Joomla Content Management System, including customization and development of bespoke modules to connect to in-house systems.
Development of a bespoke Intranet document repository.
Hobbies and Interests
As well as using Linux as my primary OS at work, I also use Linux at home and class Linux/Open Source software amongst my hobbies. I try to contribute to the Open Source community whenever time permits. Whether that be providing help and advice to other Linux users or contributing patches to open source software I use. During my time in Turkey, I have given talks and seminars for the Turkish Linux User Groups and the Istanbul Technology Association.
When not at the computer I enjoy walking and the outdoors which I combine with a keen interest in photography.
